Walsall Macular Support Group

Do you have Macular Degeneration?  Or do you know someone that is affected by it?

If so, why not come along to the Macular Society meetings, held at Walsall Society for the Blind every third Monday in the month, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The informal group get together to talk about how macular affects them personally and their experiences of it.

Up to date information, support and practical advice is available,  speakers also visit to talk to the group, regarding a variety of different topics.

Macular Degeneration (MD) or macular disease are collective terms for conditions which lead to the loss of central vision, due to damage to the macula, which is a small part of the retina which lines the back of the eye.

It is the most common cause of visual impairment in the developed world.  In the UK around 250,000 people are registered as visually impaired due to the condition.

If you would like to attend the meetings or would like further information, please contact us on 01922 627683 and we will be happy to put you in touch with Amanda or Neal from the Macular Society, who run the meetings.

The next meeting will be held on Monday 20th March 2017
